Kaapo Kähkönen made 32 saves as Charlotte shut out Windfall, 2-0, in Recreation 2 of their Atlantic Division semifinal on Sunday night. The Checkers will host Recreation 3 on Wednesday.
Wilmer Skoog and Ben Steeves supplied the offense and Kähkönen and the Charlotte protection took care of the remainder, shutting down the Bruins as Windfall owned a 25-7 benefit in photographs on aim over the ultimate half of the competition.
Showing in his first profession Calder Cup postseason, Kähkönen (2-0) has stopped 59 of 60 photographs within the sequence to date.
Michael DiPietro (2-3) made 27 saves for the Bruins. He has allowed 9 targets on 112 photographs (1.84, .920) in these playoffs.
