The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired restricted free-agent defenseman Maxence Guenette from the Ottawa Senators in trade for defenseman Dennis Gilbert.
The Flyers and Guenette have agreed to phrases on a one-year, two-way contract.
The 24-year-old Guenette was a seventh-round alternative by the Senators within the 2019 NHL Draft. He skated in 236 video games with the AHL’s Belleville Senators over his first 4 professional seasons, accumulating 27 targets and 89 assists for 116 factors, and served as an alternate captain in 2024-25.
Guenette additionally skated in eight NHL video games with Ottawa.
Gilbert has appeared in six video games with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms this season, recording one help. He tallied six assists in 29 NHL video games between Buffalo and Ottawa in 2024-25.
An eighth-year professional, Gilbert has performed 194 video games within the AHL, recording 15 targets and 43 assists for 58 factors. In 111 profession NHL matches, Gilbert has three targets and 17 assists. He was a third-round choice by Chicago within the 2015 NHL Draft.
